Reason: Risk of serious injury from impact and lacerations if the affected stopper ejects while in use. Incidents have occurred in the United States resulting in injury, including 3 reports of permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye.

Action: Stop using affected products immediately. Check the underside of the stopper to see if it has a pressure relief feature. If the stopper does not have a pressure relief feature on the base, it is an affected product. The stopper is located beneath the stainless-steel lid. Contact Thermos to arrange a replacement stopper (expected to be available by July 2026). Consumers will need to provide their name, contact details, postal address and a photo of the underside of their affected stopper. When replacement stoppers are available, Thermos will ask consumers to safely dispose of the affected stopper and send a replacement stopper for each affected product at no cost, together with installation instructions. Do not use the affected product until the replacement stopper has been installed. Contact Thermos if you have any further questions or require assistance with the recall.

Hazard: Thermos are recalling the Thermos Stainless King Food Jars because in certain circumstances, pressure may build up inside the container If pressure builds up inside the container it can cause the stopper beneath the lid to eject forcefully without warning when opened. This may occur if contents are left in the container for an extended period, contrary to the product’s intended use.

Action: Check if the underside of the stopper has a pressure relief feature (see picture provided). If not, you have an affected product and Thermos will provide a replacement stopper when contacted by you at no cost. Replacement stoppers are expected to be available within 4 to 6 weeks. When contacting Thermos, please provide your name, contact details, postal address, and a photograph of the underside of the stopper to verify the product is an affected product. You should not use the product until the replacement stopper has been installed.
