Hazard / issue Mondo are recalling the HealthSure Hot Water Bottle sold at Chemist Warehouse because the Hot Water Bottles are missing complete safety and warning instructions. The Hot Water Bottles are missing complete safety instructions on the cellophane bag. The cellophane bag is missing the warning “Plastic Bags can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this bag away from babies and children”.
Remedy / action
- Keep the plastic bag away from children and dispose of the bag in a safe manner. Please pickup a full warning statement and instructions from the store where purchased or access relevant advice at mondo.co.nz/recall, and for any concerns, please return the product to the Chemist Warehouse Store where purchased for a refund.

The latest Health New Zealand advice is: Exposure to asbestos does not cause any immediate health problems. The risk of developing asbestos-related health conditions, such as some types of cancer and lung disease, is linked to the nature and quantity of asbestos and the length of time a person was exposed to it. There is no safe level and therefore we try to avoid all exposure. For most people who have these products at home, the quantities involved will be small. That is very different to the greater risk for people who might be exposed during construction work or through the mining industry.
